Die 12 BerlinerInnen von Stimmgewalt sind eine A-Cappella-Gothrock-Metal-Band, auch „HardChor“ genannt. Als A-Cappella-Band nutzen Stimmgewalt keinerlei Instrumente. Alle Instrumente werden durch die menschliche Stimme ersetzt. Das Repertoire enthält sowohl Eigenkompositionen als auch neuartige Interpretationen bekannterer Stücke aus dem Gothic-, Metal- und Rockgenre. Einflüsse zieht die Band auch aus dem Folk- und Mittelalter-Rock, der Neuen Deutschen Härte und dem Symphonic Metal.
